LEGAL NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS – SALE OF REAL PROPERTY Barrett Township will accept sealed bids for the purchase of a parcel of real estate located at 993 Route 390, in Barrett Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, further identified as Monroe County Parcel ID No 01.14.1.35 and Map No. 01-6387-01-25-0954 (“Property”). The Property is approximately 0.85 acre in size and is improved with a building containing approximately 4,648 SF of GBA along with a paved parking area for approximately 20 vehicles. The building formerly served as the Township's main offices. The Property is located in the Mixed Use – Village (MU-V) Zoning District. The minimum bid amount is $400,000. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by earnest money in the form of a certified bank or cashier's check payable to Barrett Township in an amount of not less than 10% of the amount of the bid. Bidders who fail to include earnest money with their proposal package will immediately have their proposals rejected and will receive no further consideration. Earnest money will be promptly returned to all unsuccessful bidders. Sealed bids must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 24, 2023 at the Barrett Administrative & Recreation Complex (BARC), 1200 Route 390, Cresco, Pennsylvania 18326. The Barrett Township Board of Supervisors will publicly open the bids at a regular meeting at 8:00 a.m. on October 25, 2023 at the BARC. The award of a contract will be made only by public announcement at a regular or special meeting of the Board of Supervisors. Information packets containing the General Terms of Sale can be obtained by contacting Pam Gardsy, Barrett Township Executive Secretary, at (570) 595-2602, Extension 3, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Property is being sold “AS IS” and under and subject to all of the General Terms of Sale and the zoning in effect at the time of sale. All bidders shall carefully review these terms. The successful bidder will be required to pay in full the purchase price for the Property within 60 days of acceptance of the bid. Bids may not be contingent on financing or inspections. The successful bidder shall be required to pay all costs of transfer of the Property, except for the cost of the preparation of the deed. These costs may include but are not limited to, title search, title insurance, title certification, survey costs, recording fees, notary fees, tax certification costs and taxes. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject all bids. Additionally, the Township reserves the right to waive any technical and legal deficiencies or irregularities of the bids and to accept any bid that it believes to be in the best interest of the Township. No bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of 45 days after the date set for opening thereof. By Order of the Barrett Township Board of Supervisors
