Randy "Muffin" E. Bender, 50, of Swiftwater, passed away early Sunday morning, May 4, 2025, while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of Kimberly Marie (Salyers) Bender with whom he spent 14 years together and shared eight years of marriage.
Born on March 10, 1975 in Scranton he was the son of Malinda (Price) Bender of Cresco and the late Gary Bender.
He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County and graduated from Pocono Mountain High School where he was in the co-op program and worked with Price Brothers Electric..
Randy was an electrician for the Pocono Mountain School District from where he recently retired after 21 years of service and he also owned and operated Bender Electric.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and also a member of the National Turkey Wildlife Foundation.
He enjoyed hunting, target shooting, working hard, dancing, Tequila, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and four-wheeling with his family; and he was known for his endless funny stories.
Randy was a dedicated father and husband and his daughters were his biggest achievement in life.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are two daughters, Abigail and Amelia Bender both at home; a sister, Lynn Pope and her husband Ryan of Texas; a "bonus sister", Tami Binder and her husband Shane of Scotrun; and a "bonus dad", Clark Smith and his wife Marge of Cresco.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Evelyn Bender and Henry and Violet Price; and his best canine friend, Remington.
Randy's life will be celebrated at the "Rally for Randy" to be held on Saturday, May 10th from 1-5PM (with a short service beginning at 2:00PM) at the VFW on Route 196 in Tobyhanna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family which will be used for the "Rally for Randy" and towards his daughters' education.
