Born on June 24, 1929 in Taylor, he was the son of the late John and Julia (Prilupsky) Freach and lived permanently in Monroe County since 1968.
He served in the United States Army and while living in Philadelphia was self-employed in the motor repair business.
John was a member of the Pocono Bible Church in Mountainhome, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Philadelphia and the Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his wife he is survived by numerous extended family members.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 1, at 12:30PM at Oakland Cemetery in Mountainhome with Pastor Brian Whitmer officiating. There will be no viewing.
