Hilda L. Bender

Hilda L. Bender, 94, of Canadensis, died March 8 in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Stanley G. Bender. She was a bookkeeper for Starkey Farms, Long Pond, Monroe County. She and her husband also co-owned and operated the former Bender’s Diner, Mountainhome, Monroe County. Born in Sterling, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Simon and Clara (Lesher) Lee. She was a member of the Moravian Church of Canadensis. She was a member of the Harvesters Senior Citizens Club. Survivors: Son, William C. of Canadensis; daughter, Joyce R. Powell of Mountainhome; brother, Paul of Hamlin, Pa.; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Contributions: To the church.
