Gayle was a graduate of Barrett Township High School and continued her education earning an Associate's degree in Nursing. She worked as a hostess and waitress at both Buck Hill and Skytop Lodges.
She was a member of the Pocono Bible Church in Mountainhome and was also active with the Girl Scouts and Concerned Citizens of Barrett Township.
In addition to her husband, surviving are six children, Laure Whalen of Kentucky, Bevis Miller of Kentucky, Mildred Gray of Virginia, Luana Olpp of Pennsylvania, Susan Tudor of Pennsylvania and Lance Miller of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Hillary Greer of Kentucky, Alyson Sneed of Virginia, Christopher Olpp of Pennsylvania, Nicholas Olpp of Pennsylvania, Michael Olpp of Tennessee, Rosemarie Miller of North Carolina, Bradley Miller of Pennsylvania and Dustin Gray of Virginia; and two great grandchildren, Valerie Trudeau of Pennsylvania and Robert ("Rocky") Sneed of Pennsylvania.
She was pre-deceased by a great grandchild, Jaime Whalen.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, January 5th, from 1:30-3:00pm at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. A memorial service will be held at the Pocono Bible Church in Mountainhome at a later date.
