First half of 2020: Barrett Management Recap

Editor's Note:
I just updated the Downloads section of this site with the first half of the year's meeting minutes from the township.

Below are some highlights that I compiled:

January 22:

A letter was received from the U.S. Census Bureau asking the Supervisors to review their depiction of the legal boundary for accuracy for Barrett Township. The Supervisors will review the maps. If any corrections are made, the changes should be submitted by March 1, 2020. The Census Bureau will use this information to tabulate data for the 2020 Census.

A letter was received from Attorney Eckert Seamans requesting the Supervisors consider the adoption of a Slot Machine Nuisance Ordinance to help combat the further expansion of illegal slot machines.

March 9

Special meeting for Canadensis Bridge Project - no public comments on record

June 10:

  • Discussion was held on the reimbursement to Buck Hill Falls Company for the paving project for the Township roads in Buck Hill Falls. John Seese made a motion to authorize William Pipolo, Jr. to sign a simple unsecured promissory note to repay $ 106,020.00 over five (5) years without interest for the paving projects on Valley View Road, Rabbit Run Road and Lenape Lane and the note is in a form acceptable to the Township Solicitor. The motion was seconded by May LaBar and carried. All Supervisors voted aye.
  • William Pipolo, Jr. made a motion to have John Seese prepare a list of Township roads to be paved by the Maintenance Department this year with a budget between $ 20,000 and $ 25,000. The motion was seconded by May LaBar and carried. All Supervisors voted aye.
  • Pam Gardsy reported that the pavilion at Community Park at Ice Lake is ready to be delivered and installed. Surveyor Terry Martin will stake out the four corners of the pavilion as per the approved plan.

June 17:

Editor's Note: A "Regular Workshop" meeting - is there such a thing? Was this a meeting or a workshop?  A workshop isn't on the record and no official action should take place.  So I'm a little confused by the wording.

From paragraph 1:
William Pipolo, Jr. made a motion to reconvene the meeting from June 10, 2020 at 8:56 a.m.

Later:
William Pipolo, Jr. made a motion to approve the repairs to the Cat 420 backhoe in the amount of approximately $ 9,500.00. The motion was seconded by John Seese and carried. All Supervisors voted aye.
