In addition to this ordinance, there is an item of new business for an ordinance regulating the discharge of firearms in the township.
I'm attaching a copy of the Agenda for this meeting.
Many in the township are affected in different ways by things covered in these ordinances but the overwhelming opinion is that they are much needed. You may agree, or you may disagree. In either case, you need to be present to voice your opinions. However, if you don't attend the meeting, be prepared to live with whatever is passed for a long, long, time.
I urge everyone who reads this to do whatever you have to do to alter your plans to be in attendance at this meeting. The room is large and can hold a lot of people. The Supervisors need to see the residents are concerned and they will take action. I have had a few neighbors thank me for being concerned and I urge others to do the same.
If you think your input won't matter, and "just let somebody else take care of it", then there are a couple of stories to think about.
--------------------------
The Little Red Hen lives on a farm with her friends—a lazy cat, a dog, and a duck. One day, she finds some grains of wheat and decides to plant them. She asks her friends for help, but they all refuse, saying, "Not I." So, the Little Red Hen plants the wheat by herself.
As the wheat grows, the Little Red Hen continues to ask for help with watering, harvesting, and eventually grinding the wheat into flour. Each time, her friends refuse to help, and she does all the work alone.
Finally, the Little Red Hen uses the flour to bake bread. When the bread is ready, she asks who will help her eat it. This time, all her friends eagerly volunteer, but the Little Red Hen refuses their help. She tells them that because they didn't help with the work, they don't deserve to share in the reward. So, she eats the bread by herself.
Moral:
The story highlights the importance of hard work and the idea that those who do not contribute to a task should not expect to enjoy the rewards. It also emphasizes the value of responsibility and the consequences of laziness.
----------------------
This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done, and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. In the end, Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done."**
The moral of this story is that when everyone assumes someone else will take responsibility, tasks can be left undone. It highlights the importance of personal accountability and the pitfalls of assuming others will handle something that needs to be done.
Don't think your voice won't be heard. You have one opportunity to be there and participate. Wednesday, 8/14/2024 at 5:30 at the Township Administrative Center.
