Armed robber hits China III at closing time in Cresco

A masked man with a gun robbed China III restaurant in Cresco Sunday night.

The man entered the rear of the business at 109 Oak Lane, Cresco, armed with a handgun, and demanded employees get money from the cash register, said Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Chris Wagner.

After getting the money the gunman, described as a Hispanic or light skinned man who hid his identity with a hood and a mask, fled on foot. Officers were not able to locate him when they arrived at the restaurant, nor where they able to provide an estimate on now much cash was stolen in the holdup.

The armed robbery happened just before closing, about 9:56 p.m., about four minutes before the restaurant was set to close at 10 p.m.
