Jane E. Cleveland

Jane E. Cleveland, 70, of Canadensis, passed away Friday afternoon, April 19, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Grover R. Cleveland with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

Born on August 27, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY, she was one of seven children of the late Warren and Marion (Grady) Ward and lived in Barrett Township for the past 21 years moving from Staten Island, NY.

In earlier years she was a secretary at First National City Bank in Manhattan, NY and after moving to Pennsylvania worked as a teller at NBT Bank in Mountainhome.

Jane volunteered at the Nearly New Shop in Cresco.

In addition to her husband, surviving are two sons, Grover J. Cleveland and wife Margaret of Cresco, and Matthew F. Cleveland and fiancé Savanna Chandler of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, Julianne F. Cleveland and Aubrie E. Cleveland; three sisters, Susan Chipman and husband Robert of Holyoke, MA, Margaret Bossart of Port Charlotte, FL, and Anna Mohan and husband Thomas of Ocala, FL; a brother, Warren Ward and fiancé Linda Valentine of Wilmington, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Ward and Irene Wall.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, April 27th, from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. There will be no services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to the Nearly New Shop, 996 PA-390, Cresco, PA 18326.
