Refreshments served. The Veduta Gallery, across from Steele’s Hardware in Cresco, opens the summer season with new work by Nadya Shmavonian, Robert Woodward, Claire Rodgers and Ann Mitchell, among others.Nadya brings the arduous craft of FELTING - creating material with strands of wool and silk - really 3D painting - to produce diaphanous scarves, shawls and hats, as well as wall quilts and wall pieces. Robert furthers the craft of wood turning local woods with more complicated vessels, as well as tables and trays in local woods. Claire Rodgers continues her vessel journey with a new series developed over the winter months. Ann frees up her already expressive style of local landscape painting, specializing in commissioned murals and wall covering.
There’s lots of funky jewelry, paintings, larger sculpture.
