Small Business Saturday at the Veduta Gallery
Open THIS Saturday, 11.26.22, from 4-7 PM.
Handmade objects by local artists.
Holiday shopping for all, including felted hats, shawls, wooden bowls, ceramics, cheese platters, bird houses, resin tables, and stocking stuffers (big stockings).
The Veduta Gallery features new craft work by Nadya Shmavonian, Robert Woodward, Claire Rodgers and paintings by Ann Mitchell, among others (descriptions below).
The Gallery is located across from Steele’s Hardware in Cresco.
Artsy, craftsy stuff served up with refreshments and amuse-les-bouches, as well as art banter.
Veduta Offerings:
- Nadya brings the arduous craft of wet felting - creating new material from strands of wool and silk fibers to produce diaphanous scarves, shawls and hats, vessels and wall pieces. She also introduces “Nadji's”, fashionable neck apparel for chilly nights out. She specializes in custom, commissioned pieces, made to order.
- Robert furthers the craft of turning local woods into complicated vessels, but also repurposes these woods as tables, ice cream scoops, pizza cutters, and trays. New cheese boards, trays, bird houses, pizza cutters, ice cream scoops. The Gallery also introduces his new Solarials, which are illuminated mobiles perched - by drone - high in your tallest tree.
- Claire, ever-productive, continues her colorful, ceramic vessel journey with a new series developed over the winter months. And her anti-bug torchiers are particularly apropos to this buggy season. Claire also has exquisite, hand-formed vessels, and her ceramic wine coolers.
- Ann frees up her already expressive style of local landscape painting, specializing in commissioned murals and wall coverings.
There’s lots of funky jewelry, paintings, bird houses, and larger sculpture. A lil’ something for everyone.
