Public Notice - Intent to Remediate - 114 Rock Oak Lane, Buck Hill Falls

PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO REMEDIATE Pursuant to the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act, the act of May 19, 1995,P.L. 4, No. 1995-2., notice is hereby given that Vincent Keegan of Initram, LLC has submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection a Notice of Intent to Remediate a site located at 114 Rock Oak Lane, Buck Hill Falls, Barrett Township, Monroe County, PA. This Notice of Intent to Remediate states that the site was a former garage and maintenance area for Buck Hill. The site has been found to be contaminated with various historic regulated substances utilized thereon, including: leaded and unleaded gasoline; diesel fuel; and fuel oils #2, #4, and #6 which has residually contaminated shallow soils and shallow groundwater on the site. Initram, LLC has indicated that the proposed remediation measures will be natural attenuation given the residual impact is generally limited immediately within and immediately adjacent to the former tank field area. The proposed future use of the property will be residential housing with the former garage and maintenance area (approximately 2-3 acres) to be used as open space through the application and implementation of an environmental covenant for that 2 to 3 acre area.Initram, LLC plans to use the site specific standard at the site. The Act provides for a 30-day comment period for site-specific standard remediations. The 30-day comment period is initiated with the publication of this notice. Until, December 22, 2019, interested parties in Buck Hill Falls, Barrett Township, and Monroe County may submit a request to Initram, LLC to be involved in the development of the remediation and the re-use plans for the site. Buck Hill Falls, Barrett Township, and Monroe County interested parties may also submit a request to Initram, LLC during this 30-day comment period to develop and implement a public involvement plan.
