"Wait and See" Approach to Fireworks

Neighboring township and fellow members of Pocono Mountain Regional Police Tobyhanna Township supervisors have taken a proactive approach to the new Pennsylvania statewide changes to the fireworks laws.  Previously, out of state residents were able to buy more powerful fireworks than PA residents.  Now, PA residents can purchase the same fireworks as out of state residents (ironic, right?).

As of writing this article, Barrett Township supervisors have elected a “wait and see” approach to fireworks.  With this in mind, we ask residents to be considerate of neighbors who may suffer from PTSD, the elderly, and the young.

You get the idea: setting off Fireworks at midnight on July 4th is legal (for now) and likely won’t cause complaints.  Fireworks every night for a week straight might inspire your neighbor to pick up the phone.
