Local residents hosting cocktail party to discuss the future of theater in Barrett Township

You and a guest are invited to attend a cocktail party hosted by Canadensis residents, Brian Long and Sarah T. Schwab.  The event will be held on Saturday, November 21st from 2pm to 5pm at the Friendly Community Center at 6683 Rte 191 in Mountainhome.  Brian is a New York producer and artist manager and is considering creating a not for profit theater company in the Barrett Township area.  He would like to meet with Barrett Township residents to discuss the viability and interest level of the idea.

The mission of the proposed theater company would be  threefold: 1) to produce and develop diverse new works by American artists, both local and national; 2) to cultivate and develop audiences to support the future patronage of American theater; and 3) to provide a positive, collaborative impact to the community, both culturally and financially.

The core programming would include two or three mainstage shows per year (featuring star actors), residencies for local theater producers and artists and workshop productions of developing new work.

The evening agenda is as follows:

cocktails - 2pm to 3:15pm
presentation by Brian Long - 3:15 to 3:30pm
question and answer session - 3:30 to 4pm
more cocktails - 4pm to 5pm

The question and answer session will include questions for Brian but also questions for the attendees from Brian so he can better understand the community's thoughts on the proposed theater company.

For questions or to rsvp for the event, please e-mail blong@rattlestick.org. Space is limited, so rsvp at your earliest convenience to secure your spot.
