In the Works: Mountainhome / Canadensis Public Septic System

Update 3/15/18:

Meeting details:
Date: April 18, 2018
Time: 8:00am

(Original Article from March 2017)
At a recent Marketing meeting at the Community Center, building a public septic system was presented as a solution for residents along 390 and 447 who don't have sufficient space for a sand mound.  It remains to be seen whether it is better to build smaller, separate systems, or combine them all into one.  Since there are plenty of slopes and natural features in this area, we could build the whole system to be gravity fed.

Any interested parties are encouraged to participate.  Investing in our local infrastructure is a great way to generate economic growth.  We are also discussing rebuilding the playhouse, beautifying town, starting a small community school for young children, promoting Barrett Parks and Recreation, and more.

Hi James,

At this point, I don’t have much else to report on this. It seems that the Supervisors and everyone else in town agree that a public / central septic system would alleviate many issues that are holding back businesses from moving forward with plans in the area.

We’ve brought this idea up at several supervisor meetings over the last month or two and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to take off. I’d suggest you attend a supervisor meeting and bring up your ideas. It’s always nice to have multiple people raising the same ideas. Let me know if I can do anything else to help?

Just curious, where in town is your property?

I believe there is a small section of Buck Hill with private septic already, and the Cranberry Creek Estates also have a central sewer, over by Carazza’s.

Thanks,
-Nate
