On December 16th a festive Buck Hill Falls Holiday luncheon organized by radiant Lucy Stone Cusano was held in the beautiful art-filled Fairway Grille. With about 50 ladies in attendance the holiday season was celebrated with happy conversation and laughter not far from a warm fireplace and delicious chicken entrees and appetizers. Adding to the holiday spirit, Santa took a brief respite from the North Pole frenzy and entertained the group with song. Although in his haste Santa had forgotten to don his red pants, his boisterous Christmas mood was unaffected as he joyously belted out a raucous rendition of Psycho Santa.

As the holiday luncheon is also an important annual fund-raiser for CAME, the group cheered as it was announced $9200 had been raised. CAME provides food, staples and toiletry items for local residents in need, and Becky Leister, Barrett’s devoted Director of CAME, explained that 408 residents are provided with food for about 8500 meals each month. CAME services Barrett, Price, and a portion of Paradise Townships and needs soups, canned fruit, and one-can meals like beef stew and ravioli. Items such as cereal, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, tea, detergent, hygiene and paper products which can not be purchased using State funds are purchased with donated funds. Since neighbor needs can’t be met without local contributions, the generosity of our residents is greatly appreciated.
