(Letter to the Editor) Hello Neighbor!

We are very sorry for the interruption in township news updates, but bad colds and family matters this winter slowed us down.  We'll summarize activities since January, although you are probably already familiar with them:

Sunday, April 19 - 11am to 4pm

We will have tables available for local persons who have environment or humanity based businesses, projects, or hobbies they would like to share, or display.

We're back! Enjoy April 19th with us- see presentations on tomahawk throwing by the Boy Scouts, maple syrup by Dutch Hill Preserves, and saving the bee and butterfly pollinators. Join a nature walk, admire local art, support our local farms or purchase plant seedlings for your garden. Children can make bird feeders, and plant seeds.

Music by Juggernaut String Band. BBQ food truck by local The Smokin' Chef.

Thank you to our gold sponsors Skytop Lodge and Weiler.

  • Citizens Tables (2 available) will be free, thanks to donations from our generous sponsors, including Skytop Lodge, and the Pour House, for community service or hobby exhibits. No selling or advertising (except for one display with business cards or brochures) will be allowed.
  • Business Tables (3 available) may be reserved, advertising and sales of Earth Day related or farm products will be permitted. Table fee with the table provided is $25.00, or if the business provides their own table $10.00.

Dear Barrett Township Supervisors and Fellow Residents,

The local municipal farm (LMF) will use existing open space land for property tax relief. This will become an economic vehicle to make our money work for us.

Possible Plans:

This business card rack is sponsored by the Barrett Paradise Business Association for any businesses in Barret & Paradise Townships that would like to display their business cards to encourage residents & businesses alike to shop locally. This rack was made & installed by Chadd Gray, Bobette Stiff & Joey Bender as a donation to the Business Association.

Apparently a new phone scam is going on in our area, where a person, who claims to be with PP&L electric company. The caller is then telling the owners their accounts are delinquent and there electricity will be shut off, with in an hour, if they don’t receive any payment. THIS IS A SCAM! Do not send or transfer any money to them.

My advice to anyone who receives this type of phone call, shall call PP&L at their 1-800 number, NOT the phone number the caller is providing to make payment.

Be sure to visit Barrett Township on your way to / from the Mount Airy Casino!

The menu at Guy Fieri’s Mt. Pocono Kitchen reflects his signature style of authentic and surprising flavors. Guy has traveled over 150,000 miles across America’s back roads in Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in search of the best regional fare: Guy knows American food to the core. The dishes are crafted with the heart and soul of hometown favorites and infused with Guy’s big, daring flavors. You will find beloved comfort food with a spin only Guy could have envisioned. Hope you’re hungry, because Guy’s imagination knows no boundaries.  Open 24 hours.
