In 2000, Barrett Township, Paradise Townships and Mount Pocono Borough began working together, along with the Monroe County Open Space Commission, to provide parks and recreation for area residents. In 2014, Mount Pocono withdrew from PARC. Through the Commission, Skywood Park, Seven Pines Park and Ice Lake provide recreation opportunities and natural experiences for area residents.
The Sheep Shed Project of Women’s Resources of Monroe County provides gently used furniture to families in transition. The Sheep Shed serves victims of domestic and sexual violence by filling their new homes with furniture and creating a comfortable healing space for families in need. The Sheep Shed is currently accepting donations of gently used furniture. To donate items please contact the volunteer below: Roseanne at (570) 595-7381 or by email at Roseanne.walters@gmail.com
